Scottish Communities Cup 3rd Round Draw
#1
The draw for the third round of the League Cup will take place in Falkirk on Monday.

The seedings are

Seeded
Rangers
Celtic
Hearts
Dundee Utd
Kilmarnock
St Johnstone
Aberdeen
Motherwell

Unseeded
Hibs
St Mirren
Falkirk
Ross County
Queen of the South
Ayr
Airdrie
East Fife

Who does everyone want? St Johnstone at home would probably give us the best chance of going through, although it is the least glamorous. I would like one of the bigots or Aberdeen at home.

I predict Aberdeen in Dingwall.

It'll be a close game, but I think with a packed Jailend we could do it !

What team is missing from the list above?
Motherwell! I bet we get them in the draw now

12.5% chance of drawing Dundee Utd (8/1)

37.5% chance we get a decent draw against Aberdeen, Rangers or Celtic (8/3)

50% chance of playing at home (2/1)

My bets are on Dundee Utd AGAIN, and we will draw them for ever more until we beat them.

I might be wrong here on either the maths or on the way that the draw is done...the chances on that are over 90%, however I think the chances of a home tie is 1 in 4 therefore making it a 25% chance of being drawn at home.

Basing this on 8 unseeded teams and that they alternate between seeded and unseeded teams being drawn at home. Unless they draw the 2 teams and then put those 2 into another pot to then draw the home side. in which case it is 50/50 whether we get a home tie or not.

You might be right, i'm no bookie, infact my heads starting to hurt working out the posibilities.

I'll stick with percentages as I think the odds are wrong way round(or not).

I can't remember the way the draws are made, but I think all draws should have the ability to make it 50% possible of a home tie for any team. But thinking about it, we do get a lot of home draws in this competition, (Tuesday being an exception).

They might be Fifa Standard Balls they are drawing of differing weights ensuring a desired draw for the sponsors. Just watch the way they do the Champions League draw, it's Higher Maths in action. I wonder if is actually possible through maths to work out what the groups will be?!

Who cares, we will still draw Dundee Utd anyway Sad

Home draw would be best vs anyone.
Selfishly, I would love a visit to Easter Road or Tynecastle.

Personally would like Rangers or Motherwell away just to knock the stadiums off my list.

Otherwise, Aberdeen or Hearts at home would be a great game
