Dundee Utd vs county, Tuesday night.

All the possession but just don’t have the quality to break them down. Dirty Arab tricks on show - lack of ball boys to get the ball back in play .
We need to up it second half and make their keeper make a save!

They were always going to throw everything at us early on, 1-0's not bad. Keep the faith, we don't go down easy these days.

Hopefully we pick it up in the remaining league games. Anyone at the game tonight that can tell us how it went? Never sure how accurate the BBC stats are, and they don't tell a full picture anyway!

We should never have got beat. But could have played all night without scoring! DU p*sh poor but will grind out one nils to the end of the season. They now play two more league games before we kick another ball in the league. Reality check.

Not a great result, gives Dundee United a glimmer of hope as they can get to within two points of us before we go away to Alloa.

Dundee U (H)
Ayr (A)
Caley (A)
Falkirk (A)

Are the other potential banana skins for us I feel.

Last night saw a textbook away team performance- get an early goal, shut up shop and run the clock down without any pretence of actually playing much football
Unfortunately for us, that performance was delivered by Dundee United

Having said that, we were too direct at times, far too often resorting to shelling the ball in the general direction of Stewart and Graham in attack. For all that we dominated the 2nd half, we didn't actually create many proper chances- indeed Stewart arguably had our best chance of the game no more than 30 seconds after half time, when Midge (pass marks for him as always, ably supported down the left by Kenny) skinned their RB and cut it back for Stewart to shoot somewhat tamely straight at the keeper from 8 yards out
It was a game where we could easily have had at least 1 penalty, and at least a point- United barely left their own half after scoring (the vast swathes of empty orange seats all around the ground perhaps tell us something about what the natives think of Neilsonball)
A frustrating evening (also frustrating: Fox's distribution. Deary me), but nothing to panic over

We should have got at least a point from this game. We had more possession and some great chances to score but to be fair their keeper put in a good few blocks. Late on a soft shot at goal saw our players turn away and missed the keeper fumbling the ball, a lesson no doubt to be learned. Every time we attacked down our left the Dundee defence were all over the place just a pity we didn't do more of it. County way better than United and I am looking forward to the game on the 5th Our support although small gave the team plenty of vocal encouragement. Only negative for me was the poor goal we conceded, good header from a player who easily lost his marker.

Don't think so. Just not invincible. Conceding an early goal to the team who previously poop-fested their way to a 1-0 win at Dingwall was always likely going to end in same team poop-festing their way to the points in Dundee.

Must learn to be better at not conceding and at prising open difficult teams. We're not quite ready for the Premiership.

I don't think we'll muck this up purely by Dundee United being a bit pants when they have to attack, their fans will take smash and grab wins against us, but won't accept 4-5-1 formations at home to Alloa and QOTS.
