N'Gog's flick on the halfway line to beat his man, though...

At last we start to play good football and no silly costly mistakes. Defence was solid apart from Dundee's goal. Very positive in all areas of the pitch today and glad Coyle listened to me and played Schalk & Ngog up front. Dkd had a great game & scored a great goal & also 2 assists. Lots of positives from today which we will have to carry on to our next upcoming fixtures. 125 staggies at the game today who encouraged the team & were rewarded with a very important victory. Onwards & Upwards for the Staggies.

International highlights up on YouTube.

The first goal’s a good a finish as County have scored all season (I realise that’s only 8 goals to choose from). DAvis is a genuine first team player at this point, in a way Dingwall never was.

Equaliser is the kind of goal that doesn’t get conceded if Davies is playing. Hard to see who it is, but either Fontaine or, more likely, Fraser gets bullied. Poor stuff.

Schalk’s first is the result of comically bad defending which gives me so much hope for getting out of this mess. The keeper throws it in, after two Dundee players muck about. His second is a cracking finish set up by DKD. Beautiful goal. He’s our best finisher.

The fourth is just Chow smashing it as hard as he can and the keeper being all over the shop. Great pass to set him up.

Excellent result and sounds like a good performance.

Certainly not a fan of OC (!), but fair play to him, it does look like the transfer window has been a success :-

Souttar, Fontaine ( and hopefully Melbourne)

Kait ( not sure yet about Tansey)

Ngog

The only mistake seems to be Effiong, who really doesn't look like he'll cut the mustard.

Sadly still think we'll get relegated but straws are being clutched.

I’ve been gutting to get on here and wax lyrical about that performance yesterday - when we (Amy and myself - the SLO away match reporting team, she types faster than me on a phone ;O) ) saw the team sheet, we knew that something was about to happen!!

From the whistle we were really well setup and the team looked to have a great balance about it, looked like a midfield diamond - Routis sitting a bit deeper, DKD on the left and O’Brien on the right and Kait sitting further forward behind Schalk and Ngog- this shape moved about a bit but it looked to be that....

Back four of Fraser Fontain Souttar and Naismith - we didn’t really have an out and out winger on the right so Naismith was doubling up as a right back and winger. Both he and DKD were getting forward and causing all sorts of issues for Dundee - the passing at times was sublime and as good as I’ve seen from any Ross County side....maybe John Maxwell or Despot will help me out here with what the formation was.....

But what a great performance which has given me real hope that we can definitely climb this table and escape relegation - we simply have a better squad of players and they looked bloody determined yesterday....

Schalk was outstanding and really worked his butt off all over the park - simply HAS to start - he’s our best natural finisher and seems to be on fire at the moment!!! Came off near the end limping so hopefully it was just cramp, or a knock.....

DKD was also on fire and the bang on the nose at the start of the game seems to have slowed him down a bit in the first half as it kept bleeding - but OMG what a second half performance from the kid - he’s definitely the best young player we’ve had in ages and definitely offers more than Midge and Eagles at the moment and his goal was as good a goal as you’ll see all season from a County player.

Fontaine and Souttar were solid at the back and Davies will struggle to get back into this defence at the moment - maybe not a bad thing as he’s looked like he needs a proper rest or to see a specialist. The Dundee goal was just a good placed header maybe Fontaine could have done better as I think he was the man marking the boy.

Thought Ngog was superb up front and can only get better with games - knocking the ball down, holding the ball up well - even shoulder charging a Dundee player who was breaking and robbing the ball of him....great to see that kind of determination!!!

Kait looks a player and reminds me a lot of Fillip Kiss - check his pass to DKD for the second Schalk goal on Sportscene - he looks like a great signing and will score goals.....the pass from Kait, the back heel from DKD and strike from Schalk was sexy football yash eet wash.....

Tim Chow also did well to take his goal which was a great through pass from DKD that cut open the Dundee defence!

Simply the best performance all season and gives real hope we can kick on and pick up the point - please Owen - don’t change this team unless anyone is injured or suspended - that starting 11 simply has to start next game!!!

. Thought the worst when they levelled,, we are rattled for the first time in game, the Schalk cashed in on a mistake and we never looked back.
Look out for the first and third goals, superb.

Thanks for the live updates Yesterday Davie, I had just arrived in Dublin off the Liverpool boat several hours late so cheeky updates on the phone were much appreciated going along the Motorway.

I had a good feeling about Yesterday, but on the other hand feared if we had lost it was game over. We have had a very poor run of fixtures at a bad time so lets hope now we will push on. The squad look more than capable of staying up, just need to keep winning against the teams around us, simple!

We also need to keep picking the right starting 11 - got that spot on yesterday....same team for the next game please!!!!

So Keillor-Dunn put Dundee in a jam, and Schalk made it 04 in two.

Just watched the Sportscene highlights and a couple of things I noticed. Firstly, Ngog looks class, his touch is excellent and he had a great attempt well saved by their keeper. His link up play looks streets ahead of any of our other forwards. Kait's ball for Schalks second was sublime, and looked effortless. Schalk was his usual industrious self, giving 110% of himself as usual. We were caught out for their equaliser, the County players were way more static than I'd expect when defending a dead ball like that. Naismith was certainly bothering their left back. The team looked more cohesive than they have at any point this season, they were playing as a unit, rather than a fractured group of individuals, as they've appeared at times recently. What a difference 3 days can make. Let's keep it up!

Highlights didn’t shown a lot of the passing on show - but you can see some beautiful moves from DKD, Schalk and Ngog - and the Kait pass for DKD to setup Schalk was a thing of beauty.....next up Hearts - keep the same starting 11

Mrs Peffrey and I had a great weekend in Dundee topped with a great win on Saturday - couldn't have asked for better. We had been in the same hotel as the team on Friday night so clearly passing on some tips paid dividends! All I can add is that if you think that some of the praise above is stretching things, then you're wrong!

Didn't realise the team had travelled down on the Friday, which hotel was that?

Idle curiosity from someone that has spent too many years of his life living in Dundee!

Delighted with the result. Have to admit when it went to 1-1 I thought oh no. I wasn’t at the game. But we did it! Huge result. Definitely not getting carried away though. Keeping playing that team.

I was at the match - best County performance in ages and the best looking starting 11, can only say that they didn't look like a team struggling with confidence - so fingers crossed that resounding win will give them the boost they need to kick start our climb up the table - not interested in talk of how far up, just league survival will do me at this point - anything else is a bonus - absolutely no reason why we can't get the points to avoid relegation and play-off spots....onward's and upwards!

And rightly so - four goals in two games and a cracking performance from him on Saturday - ran himself into the ground - love this wee guy!!

I thought (through beer goggles) it was a 4-1-2-2-1 in essence.

Back four of Naismith, Fontaine, Souttar and Fraser, with Routis sitting deepest out of the midfield three and JOB and Kait playing ahead of that. DKD was on the left wing and Schalk and N'Gog seemed happy to switch from up front to right win whenever they felt like it, with N'Gog on the top of the point slightly more often.
