Friendly against the Tinks

Could be a costly one for Caley with Ryan esson and Alex cooper both going off injured, we came through unscathed despite gary warrens best efforts.

Not sure as no numbers on tannoy. West stand and jail end relatively full. Opposition filled the wendy hoose (well looked like from the jailend.

Recon it was 1200-1500 ish. Long wait for a pie but as usual worth the wait?

Dingwall bros both on. When waz the last time brothers played for County

Anoraks please answer

As usual there were the idiots who decided it would be a good idea to set off a smoke bomb after Davies scored.

Though to be fair it was funny to see the culprit hop out the jailend like he had a rocket up his backside and hopping the gate to leave the ground - utter muppet.

ICT had a trialist playing tonight and he looked suspicously like Nick Ross who left Dundee in the summer

Strange they're going all out in a midweek friendly, even if it is a derby.

Not even close. Arguably fewer first team starters than County.

I can’t work out the County starting formation at all. Schalk wide?

McKay just doesn't look like scoring anytime soon.

Nick Ross who was on trial with Caley last night, is somebody who we should look to add. Comfortable on both feet, can see a pass.

Typical bounce game though, decent crowd.

I've heard the Caley fans say Ross would much rather go abroad than stay in the Highlands, so I don't know if he'd consider it. They've been shouting out for him for a while.

Has Mckay recovered from injury and is he likely to be fit enough to see out his two year contract ?

Would not at all be surprised to see a striker go out on loan or leave in January. Favourite must be Mckay or Schalk.

You would have thought Mckay would benefit the most from that.  As is, he looks a little short of the quality needed.  He also looks like the kind of guy who needs a run of games, and he isn't going to get that at County.

Schalk should be starting every game, or at least home games at any rate.

Schalk is certainly the most exciting of our strikers but looks to be out of favour recently so must be doubts over him staying .

We started with a 4-1-2-3 formation.

McCarey in goals obviously
and a back 4 of Malcolm, Davis, Fraser and Tumilty
Routis as the holding midfielder
Dow and Linsey as the attacking midfield
and a front 3 of Schalk, Mckay and Mikklesen.

Once DKD came on for Mikklesen it went to a 4-4-2 (Dow wide right and DKD wide left)

All the other subs pretty much replaced like for like, but the subs were so frequent it was hard to keep up

Not sure what that young "spanner" was thinking about setting off a smoke bomb - never seen so many youngsters in the Singing Section of the Jail End - frustrating that they are not there in numbers at a normal home game?

Anyway, good turn out and support for a good cause - fair play to both teams for putting on this match for Maggie's Highland.

We should have scored more goals....

I don't think Caley really care, they're not going to be remotely intimidated by a small temporary cloud of smoke next to some young Ross County fans.  They'll just think, as most do, "what a bunch of *****".

Meanwhile all the other Ross County fans near the smoke bomb have to put up with a smoke bomb.
And those securing the ground have to deal with a smoke bomb.
And those running the club have to worry about the fall-out and risk of fines or similar from the smoke bomb.
So the only people really affected are associated with Ross County.
The whole thing just screams small-time and is pretty embarrassing.
I'm sure those who set it off got a wee thrill from it, but Id argue its not worth it.

Away from that tedium, its good to hear there were a few goals, that we won, and that Tony got a run-out - especially as it was alongside Russell.

I doubt they’d be intimidated either as smoke bombs aren’t suppose to be intimidating hahah
