Motherwell Away
#1
I know we have a very important game against Partick before the Motherwell game, but in my opinion the game at Fir Park is probably going to be the biggest of the season - regardless of what the results are this weekend.

The team have stepped up in recent weeks to make a real fight for survival, but I think given how important this game is the fans should make every effort to try and get down to back the team for this game.

I some won't be able to make it due to various reason, but it would be good for those that can make it to make the effort to go.

Motherwell fans are going to be up for it, and will as usual get behind their team, but just imagine the boost it would be for our players to run out at Fir park to see a large travelling support down, and one that is right behind them.

Supporters buses are reasonably priced, and I'm sure that the club will run sufficient buses to get everyone there if their is a demand.

Huge game indeed.
Pity their social club is currently closed, always been decent.

Note for anyone who was planning to go by train - there are no trains between Glasgow and Motherwell that day, bus replacements.

Probably biggest game of the season. If we win on Saturday and Motherwell don't win it could be stay up Saturday.
Not an easy place to generate an atmosphere so need lots of us there to make a real noise. See you all then.

Supporters bus /buses will be priced at Confusedupporters club members only £10 a seat non members £15 ..
Also one under 16 with a paying adult is free and £5 for other children travelling with the adult .
Those of you who travelled to Motherwell a few weeks back witnessed a fantastic game and a double from Tony Dingwall ,it was a great atmosphere created by the staggies that were there.

I will never forget a moment after that game when we were being escorted through the ground( you have to go through the ground and under the stand to get to the bus) and the players were doing their warm down .... A few choruses of Tony Dingwall baby and a chant of we are staying up were sung and the players faces said it all ,with midge punching the air and the other players reacting as well .
Fantastic day .

lets get a big away support for this game it could make the difference between winning and losing ,staying up or not ...

What's the deal with the social club? Why's it closed? It was fairly decent last time - very cheap!

Not sure what happened tbh. There is talk of it opening again later this year under new management.

Have done a bit of digging myself. Looks like a straightforward combination of poor management and lack of profits. Shame it's closed - hopefully it's open again by the time Motherwell get promoted back to the Premiership.

Cool

Fantastic news that the first bus has been filled when there's still more than a week to go. Top effort.

A 6 pointer if ever there was one. If we win, we're pretty much safe - the 'well could only overtake us on goal difference.
If we lose, it's squeaky bum time.

Yeah, this IS the big one. The one they've been training so hard for since Jim and billy came in. A win means we are safe for the next season and can plan accordingly. Lose this cup final and all the momentum and feel good factor surrounding our recent run vanishes and it's scrapping for our SPL lives, squeaky bum time - call it what you want but it gives me butterflies just thinking about it. Gonna be a long week...

There's more talk about busses and social clubs than the match on this thread, what are we thinking about team lineups?

With our winning run ending last weekend, surely McIntyre has a free run to chop and change who he wants, whereas during the run he maybe felt he was duty bound to stick by the previous weeks winning eleven.
McIntyre says that we'll be up for the battle and with that in mind will the likes of De Vita(Heart) be risked, or even these players who were carrying knocks last weekend, there are good players sitting on the bench , Tony Dingwall for instance, he scored a cracking braceBig Grin in the draw there last time. Is it too risky to mix things up and put them into this match?

As for our opposition, defender Louis Laing (on loan there from Nottingham Forest) seems to be a doubt after going off injured last weekend but regular left back Steven Hammill may make a return to their first team after getting a full 90 mins in an U20's match.
I think their keeper, George Long, is questionable and is one we should target and I'd love to see Curran buzzing about McManus who imo is slow and a freekick/penalty waiting to happen.
Scott McDonald gets a lot of the positive attention for Motherwell but I think their young Scottish striker Lee Erwin is a real danger, he's a big lad and can create havoc if allowed to run with the ball and link up, we need to stop this. Also as it has been for the last few seasons, Keith Lasley is the heart that makes motherwell tick, if we shut him down we shut them down.

Dreamy Rafa* can deal with a physical game so I would certainly have him in mind if he is 100%.

Wow, i thought this was a big game, and that interest would be high on here!

This forum can be weird at timesUndecided

We're not going to be able to travel down unfortunately, had hoped to go but have to work in the morningSad We'll be in town in the afternoon so will be keeping an eye on the scores as they come in.

Personally, provided everyone is fit i'd like to see irvine back in for kiss then go with that. So a starting eleven like this:

21 Brown
44 Fraser 05 Boyd 43 Quinn 12 Reckord

40 Gardyne 36 Irvine 26 Woods 24 De Vita

16 Boyce 11 Curran
